    Bangalore, India – February 29, 2024 – The Consulate General of Israel to South India proudly announces its participation in the Bangalore International Film Festival (BIFFes), presenting three outstanding Israeli films to audiences in Bangalore. The Consulate is excited to offer a diverse selection of Israeli cinema, providing a window into the vibrant and multifaceted Israeli culture.

     

    Highlighted Screenings:

    Golda:

    1st Screening: Sunday, March 3rd at 3:00 PM, Screen 9, PVR Cinemas, Orion Mall

    2nd Screening: Thursday, March 7th at 10:35 AM, Screen 5, PVR Cinemas, Orion Mall

    Set during the tense 19 days of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir is faced with the potential of Israel’s destruction. She must navigate overwhelming odds, a skeptical cabinet, and a complex relationship with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, with millions of lives in the balance. Her tough leadership and compassion would ultimately decide the fate of her nation and leave her with a controversial legacy around the world

    Three Israeli high school friends take part in a class trip visiting Holocaust sites in Poland – the last time together before going to the army. During the trip, shy boy Frisch, aspiring artist Nitzan, and class heartthrob Ido deal with issues of love, friendship, and politics against the backdrop of concentration camps and memorial sites. This journey will change them forever.

    A once successful novelist tries to revive his fading career by launching a highly inventive scam. He recruits a reckless actress and trains her to assume the somber identity of a lit Masters student. Their lives will alter forever.
